The whole thing was done on an Apple PowerBook G4 called Yoko, with some of the checking done on several PCs. Browsers used to check during development where Firefox and Camino. Code was written using TextWrangler and (to less extent) notepad++.
Excessive use of JavaScript (Oh! that camel case) was avoided. The only cookie set is used for remembering the preferred language.
The whole thing should work on any modern browser with the notable exception of Microsoft's Internet Explorer which does not seem to like fixed Elements in Style Sheets.
Speaking of browser display: JavaScript is not necessary, it just makes everything more convenient (the language, you remember?). Without CSS the site will still work but may look like ... may look not too nice.
The first draft was done in XHTML 1.1 which worked fine on the Mozilla browsers but could not be displayed at all using the IE. So I had to resort to XHTML 1.0. So what.
Everything was validated using the nice W3C validation service. If you experience any unintended difficulties in using this site, feel free to email me.>
